Meet Our General Manager

MaryCarol Fowler

MaryCarol joined our team in August of 2020. She brings a new and exciting atmosphere to the inn. Her journey in hospitality began at the age of 16 and by 20 she was managing in fine dining restaurants. She was published in Food and Beverage Magazine for the ‘20 Best Steps of Service‘. She became a senior manager for Marriott and won 13 awards in her first year. 

Without enough to keep her busy, she opened a snow tubing and sports park, which developed into a premier event company specializing events like the Tough Mudder and Spartan Races.  While in Brazil, she built a beautiful 10 unit hotel by the sea. It is not surprising that despite speaking no Portuguese, she put the first shovel in the ground on this new venture!

MaryCarol has been to 37 countries and lives to travel and explore. We are lucky to have her here in in our little corner of paradise, as an integral part of our adventures in New London.

Meet the Owners

Jen and Scott Reed

Jen and Scott joined the hospitality world when they bought the Inn at Pleasant Lake in early 2015.  After launching the Oak & Grain Restaurant and earning the #1 ranked lodging and dining experience in the area, the Reed’s brought the New London Inn and Coach House Restaurant into the family in August 2020.  The vision is to pool the very best talent in creating the quintessential New England Boutique Inn experience. 

Jennifer began her career as a financial professional, but put that on hold to raise their children. During her time at home, she has taken on many roles including chauffeur, seamstress, tutor, travel agent, “chef”, gardener, tax preparer, caretaker and entertainer-in-chief. She is excited about putting her skills to work somewhere where they might be noticed.

Scott began work in the building trades, learning many skills which have always come in handy. Their first home was an 1890 Victorian that they completely refinished, which has provided an excellent reservoir of stories along with enhanced skills. He has never lost his love of the workshop or his passion for building high performing teams and is thrilled to have a new project that will provide him with an excuse to buy more tools.
