Breakfast in New London

Mom always said breakfast is the most important meal of the day.  New London has a number of options for a classic New England breakfast.  Whether its a quick grab-n-go or a relaxed sit-down breakfast, start your day right and fuel up for your planned activities.

Directly across the street from the New London Inn, Grounds is a local favorite. A small-town coffee shop with charm, chocolate, and cookies! There’s a little bit of everything including gift shop, caffeination station, local arts, Food, gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan options.  Espresso decadence-they’ve got you covered!

Just next door on Main Street, Blue Loon is a 3 min walk.  They specialize in baking artisan-style breads and pastries from scratch, using locally-sourced ingredients.  They offer a pet friendly patio in season, and create a welcoming place to gather for breakfast or lunch.  Check out the local micro-gallery provided by Center for the Arts.

Just half a mile down Main Street, Tuckers is a great option for full service breakfast or lunch. Tucker’s recipe for their popular Granite State brand is “Good Eats, Great People.  A fresh atmosphere and a friendly team, Tuckers offers everything from classic egg dishes to skillets to regional dishes with a kick.  Great for larger parties, but do call ahead!

They say America runs on Dunkin. What can we say about this New England Classic?  We’ve got ours right hereon Main Street.  Your Dunkin’ fix is less than a half mile walk from the Inn.  You don’t even need to cross the street.

If you crave classic country diner type breakfasts, Blackwater is your target destination.  About 7.5 miles, am 11 minute drive from the Inn, just turn left onto Route 11 by the Flying Goose.  Savor classic steak and eggs, huge omelets, or their locally famous corned-beef hash.
